INTROVERTIDO
In a space and time where seclusion is contemptuous, what does it feel like to embrace the stillness? What awaits the wallflower who surrenders to their intrinsic nature, might it be colorful? There is prolific beauty found only in solitude. Introvertido lives in the hollows of this anonymity and vulnerability.
As an introvert, in a society that rewards sociability, my images amplify the enchantment of introversion—a trait that compels great silence. The series reflects an evolution over a period of two years, captures the subtle discretion of those life changes and challenges the world’s view of solitary.
Subjects were relieved to learn they did not have to reveal their faces. The motif of facelessness speaks to a societal fear that should we uncover, we risk the chance of truly being seen. Introvertido collects the nuances of this narrative— only to conclude as long we remain introspective, we’re never truly alone.
